SERVICES
FROM FEASIBILITY TO FULL FIELD IMPLEMENTATION
THE CLM GROUP
ONE GROUP, THREE COMPLEMENTARY CAPABALITIES.
Our services are aligned to the CLM group structure and the type of large-scale agricultural projects we now target.
THE BRAINS
CLM Agri Consultancy
Advisory, planning and implementation support for large-scale agricultural developments
THE BOOTS ON THE GROUND
CLM MOZAMBIQUE Lda
Active contracting company providing equipment, operators, supervision and field execution.
THE SUPPLY CHAIN
CLM DISTRIBUTION SA
Procurement of equipment, spares, filters, oils, wear parts and tooling for remote operations.
Our services are built around decades of hands-on experience in land preparation, sugar estate redevelopment, irrigation-related earthworks, mechanised farming operations, road and canal works, equipment operation, workshop management and procurement support in remote African environments.
CORE SERVICE AREAS
Advisory, implementation and contracting under one roof.
CLM Agri Consultancy is the primary vehicle for advisory, planning and implementation support. CLM Mozambique remains an active contractor providing equipment, operators, supervision and field execution when required.
01
FEASIBILITY AND DEVELOPMENT COSTING
Practical feasibility input and realistic development costing based on actual field experience — equipment, production rates, ownership and operating costs, logistics and the realities of remote-area work.
02
Mechanisation Planning & Equipment Selection
Advice on the correct fleets, implements and mechanisation strategy for large-scale agricultural development, supported by long-standing relationships with CASE IH and Rome.
03
CLM DISTRIBUTION SA
Support from planning through to field implementation — project management, operational planning, production monitoring, field execution and practical management systems.
04
Agricultural Land Preparation & Field Development
Direct contracting capability through CLM Mozambique: bush clearing, heavy ploughing, ripping, levelling, land forming, harrowing, ridging, road and canal construction, drainage and sugar estate redevelopment.
05
Fleet, Workshop & Maintenance Systems
Practical experience operating, maintaining and rebuilding large agricultural and earthmoving fleets — workshop structures, maintenance systems, spares planning and warranty support on remote projects.
06
Procurement & Supply Chain Support
Through CLM Distribution SA — procurement of equipment, spares, filters, oils, wear parts and tooling required to keep remote agricultural operations moving.
SERVICES IN DETAIL
Feasibility, costing and mechanisation planning.
Positioned around CLM Agri Consultancy, but supported by the practical contracting, mechanisation, equipment maintenance and procurement experience of the wider CLM group.
FEASIBILITY STUDIES
CLM assists clients with practical feasibility input for large-scale agricultural development and redevelopment projects.
Our input is based on real field experience rather than desktop assumptions. We assess the practical requirements of developing land, mobilising equipment, establishing workshops, managing field operations, maintaining fleets, sourcing spares and operating in remote African environments.
This allows clients to test whether a proposed project is realistic from an operational, mechanisation, costing and implementation point of view.
Development Costing
CLM provides development costing support for agricultural projects where accurate field-based cost assumptions are critical.
This includes land preparation costs, equipment requirements, production rates, fuel consumption, labour requirements, maintenance costs, logistics, workshop support, spares, wear parts and the practical cost of working in difficult field conditions.
Our advantage is that we understand what development actually costs because we have operated the equipment, maintained the fleets, managed workshops and delivered agricultural development work ourselves.
EQUIPMENT COSTING MODELS
CLM can assist clients with realistic equipment costing models for agricultural and earthmoving fleets.
These models may include ownership costs, operating costs, fuel, tyres, cutting edges, filters, oils, wearing parts, maintenance labour, depreciation, finance costs, insurance, utilisation rates, replacement planning and residual values.
The purpose is to help clients understand the true cost of owning and operating equipment before committing to a project budget or fleet purchase.
OPERATIONAL COST FORECASTING
CLM supports clients with operational cost forecasting for agricultural development and mechanised field operations.
This includes forecasting the expected cost of running equipment, workshops, labour, supervision, fuel supply, maintenance systems, logistics, consumables and spares over the life of a project.
This is particularly important in African projects where fuel availability, parts supply, transport delays, equipment downtime and weak maintenance systems can materially affect the real operating cost.
MECHANISATION PLANNING
CLM advises clients on the mechanisation strategy required for large-scale agricultural projects.
This includes the selection and sizing of tractors, implements, earthmoving equipment, land preparation equipment, harvesting support equipment, transport units, workshop infrastructure and maintenance systems.
CLM’s experience is supported by long-standing working relationships with key agricultural equipment and implement suppliers, including CASE IH and Rome. This strengthens our ability to advise on equipment selection, fleet configuration, implement matching, commissioning, pre-delivery inspections, warranty registrations, warranty-period support and the handling of warranty claims.
LONG-TERM OPERATIONAL BUDGETING
CLM assists clients with long-term operational budgeting for agricultural developments and mechanised farming operations.
This includes annual operating budgets, equipment replacement planning, maintenance budgets, spares and consumables planning, workshop staffing, fuel forecasts, production assumptions and practical cost controls.
The objective is to help clients understand not only the initial development cost, but also the long-term cost of keeping the operation productive, maintained and financially realistic.
CLM’S ROLE
Six ways we plug into your project.
CLM Agri Consultancy can support clients in several practical roles, depending on project requirements
ADVISOR
Providing practical agricultural development advice based on real field, mechanisation and contracting experience.
MECHANISATION SPECIALIST
Advising on equipment selection, fleet configuration, implement matching, maintenance planning, workshop requirements and realistic equipment operating costs.
PLANNER
Assisting with development planning, equipment planning, implementation sequencing, operational structures and project readiness.
PROJECT MANAGER
Assisting clients with project coordination, field execution planning, production monitoring, reporting, implementation control and problem solving.
IMPLEMENTOR
Supporting the practical execution of agricultural development projects, either through direct field involvement, operational management or implementation oversight.
OPERATIONAL SPECIALIST
Providing practical support around daily field operations, equipment utilisation, workshop systems, logistics, fleet performance and operational efficiency.
KEY DIFFERENTIATOR
The key differentiator is that CLM Agri Consultancy is not a desk-based consultancy.
The consultancy is supported by the real-world contracting, mechanisation, equipment maintenance and field implementation experience of CLM Mozambique Lda, together with the procurement and supply chain capability of CLM Distribution SA.
Most consultants estimate from the outside. CLM has operated tractors, managed fleets, rebuilt equipment, run workshops, dealt with logistics, sourced spares and delivered work in remote African field conditions. This gives CLM a practical understanding of what agricultural development really costs and what is required to implement it successfully.
